Using Standard Test Methods
Testing to National and International Standards
Factory acceptance tests (FAT) or third-party qualification tests can be performed following industry standards and recommended practices. Our focus is typically on testing full-scale specimens. We also conduct some of the more challenging and less common bench-scale tests.
Some of the testing standards that we have followed include:
Flow Equipment Testing Standards:
- API 6A – Specification for Wellhead and Christmas Tree Equipment;
- API 6AV1 – Specification for Validation of Wellhead Surface Safety Valves and Underwater Safety Valves for Offshore Service;
- API 14A – Subsurface Safety Valve Equipment;
- API 17D – Design and Operation of Subsea Production Systems: Subsea Wellhead and Tree Equipment;
- ANSI/ISA-75.02.01 – Control Valve Capacity Test Procedures;
- API MPMS Ch. 20.3 – Measurement of Multiphase Flow;
- API RP 17S – Recommended Practice for the Design, Testing, and Operation of Subsea Multiphase Flow Meters; and
Casing Connection Qualification Standards:
- API RP 5C5:2017 – Procedures for Testing Casing and Tubing Connections; and
- ISO 13679:2002 – Petroleum and natural gas industries — Procedures for testing casing and tubing connections.
