Maher Nessim has been with C-FER Technologies since 1989 and is a C-FER Fellow. He is a senior technical specialist in risk- and reliability-based design and integrity management of pipelines, and serves as a mentor for many of our engineers and technologists working on related projects.
During his time at C-FER, Maher’s technical work has focused on risk and reliability analysis and its applications to pipeline design and integrity management.
He was principal investigator of the Pipeline Research Council International series of projects resulting in the development of the reliability-based design and assessment approach incorporated in Annexes O and C of CSA Z662.
Maher was also the originator of C FER’s PIRAMID™ software program for quantitative pipeline risk assessment.
Maher earned his PhD in Structural Engineering at the University of Calgary in 1983 and was inducted into the Canadian Academy of Engineering in 2013.
He has authored and presented over 120 papers, lectured extensively and provided worldwide consulting services on risk-based design and integrity management issues.
When he isn’t doing all that, Maher loves to hike treacherous backcountry trails with his wife.
