Gang Tao joined C-FER Technologies in 2008 as a Research Engineer in our Drilling and Completions department.

In 2022, Gang took on the role of Senior Engineering Advisor. His expertise includes finite element analysis, full-scale experimental testing, solid mechanics, fatigue life prediction, non-contact strain measurement, corrosion inspection, and fitness-for-service assessment.

Gang’s experience includes downhole tubular design and integrity assessment, full-scale testing of tubulars and threaded connections, downhole inspection tool assessment, and corrosion assessment for downhole tubulars and pipelines.

Gang holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta, as well as a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Engineering Mechanics from Tsinghua University.
