E. George Ohaeri joined C-FER in 2021 as a Research Engineer. He holds a MSc in Pipeline Engineering from Newcastle University and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Materials Science and Metallurgy) from the University of Saskatchewan.

His areas of expertise include polymer science, corrosion assessment, and advanced materials characterization. He has extensively studied the influence of hydrogen embrittlement on metallic alloys using an experimental approach and has experience in evaluating the properties of both metallic and non-metallic pipeline materials for high-pressure fluid transportation.

He has proposed suitable thermomechanical processing parameters for improving pipeline steel performance in hydrogen environments by controlling crystallographic orientation and grain boundary character.

George has also performed destructive and non-destructive evaluation to determine the characteristics of newly developed materials and to establish the microstructure and textural properties of other metallic alloys.

In recent years, George has continued to collaborate with many industry partners, while contributing his knowledge to several multi-disciplinary research projects.
