Daniel Booy

Daniel Booy is the Engineering Manager of the Fluid Systems department.

In this position, Daniel is responsible for leading a team of engineers that conduct testing and simulation involving single and multiphase flow, impact of phase change, multi-fluid mixtures, slurries, and the impact of erosion and wear.

Daniel first joined C-FER as an engineering co-op student and later worked as a junior research engineer before joining the company full time in 2011. During his career at C-FER, he spent seven years as the company’s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager and has served in his current management role since 2023.

Daniel attended the University of Alberta, obtaining his BSc in Mechanical Engineering in 2008 and his MSc in Mechanical Engineering in 2011.

When he isn’t working, Daniel will often be spending time with his family (including 4 energetic children), playing guitar, or continuing renovations on another portion of his home.
