Brandon Curkan is the Manager of Production Operations at C-FER Technologies, a position he has held since 2019, and has been a member of the Production Operations team at C-FER since 2011.
He oversees a department of engineers and technologists who work on high-value experimental and simulation-based research projects related to artificial lift, multi-phase flow in production equipment (including slurry, solvent, and high-temperature test fluids), flow assurance, and downhole flow control and monitoring.
Brandon has experience in a wide range of topics, including electric submersible pumps (ESPs), flow control devices (FCDs), geothermal power production, and surface pumping systems (peristaltic, centrifugal, diaphragm, etc.).
Brandon obtained his BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta with Distinction in 2011. He has published papers on ESP seal chamber sections, technology crossover between oil and gas and geothermal industries, the use of ESPs in the geothermal industry, and the potential use of FCDs in the geothermal industry.
When he’s not working, Brandon enjoys trips to the mountains – snowboarding in the winter and backcountry hiking in the summer.
