DIFA Knowledge Respository
In September, C-FER released the Dismantle, Inspection, Failure Analysis Knowledge (DIFA) Repository which is a document that consolidates ESP operator technical knowledge and practical experience on:
- ESP DIFA methodologies;
- Component-specific DIFA Practices;
- Tracking DIFA results; and
- Implementing DIFA recommendations.
Cable Reliability and Reuse Knowledge Repository
In September, C-FER began working with JIP participants to develop new guidelines, standard templates, or forms for operators and vendors carrying out DIFAs on ESP cable.
The intent of this effort is to help operators and vendors align on cable testing and inspection services to be conducted during teardowns.

Reliability Training
In September, C-FER conducted reliability training for a new Participant who recently joined ESP-RIFTS. The training covered key topics including:
- The ESP Failure Nomenclature Standard developed and used within ESP-RIFTS;
- Fundamentals of reliability theory;
- ESP run-life data tracking best practices; and
- Hands-on examples of using the ESP-RIFTS run-life tracking and analysis tools for benchmarking and analysis.

Recent Data Uploads
In September, C-FER received ESP run-life data for one ESP-RIFTS Participant’s thermal operations in Canada. After C-FER has processed and qualified the data, it will be made available for analysis on the ESP-RIFTS website and the Power BI benchmarking dashboard.
