August 2025 Technical Workshop

On August 25th, ESP-RIFTS Participants will meet in Galveston, Texas for a one-day workshop in conjunction with the SPE Gulf Coast Section ESP Symposium. Operators will have an opportunity to discuss the latest failure trends, field learnings, and new technologies in an open forum. In addition, guest subject matter experts will be invited to present on topics such as cable reliability and downhole monitoring.

If you are interested in attending ESP-RIFTS technical workshops as a RIFTS Participant, please contact C-FER.

Recent Data Uploads

In July, C-FER received new ESP run-life data from two ESP-RIFTS Participants with operations in offshore and thermal applications. After C‑FER has processed and qualified the data, it will be made available for analysis on the ESP-RIFTS website and the Power BI benchmarking dashboard.

July 2025 Permian Basin Workshop

On July 9th, ESP operators in the Permian Basin gathered in Midland, Texas for a Permian Basin ESP-RIFTS Workshop. This full-day workshop included discussions on the following topics:

  • ESP monitoring and optimization;
  • Permanent magnet motors;
  • Surface equipment and settings; and
  • Wellhead penetrator design.

New Permian Basin Power BI Benchmarking Dashboard

In July, C-FER presented the Permian Power BI Benchmarking Dashboard at the Permian Basin Subgroup Workshop. This dashboard contains reliability metrics developed specifically for Permian Basin operators, including charts that analyze tubing failures, pump-model-specific reliability, and restoration time. C-FER is currently rolling out access to this dashboard to Participants.
