Run-Life Xplore
Did you know that an ESP‑RIFTS membership includes a subscription to the Run‑Life Xplore (RLX) software? RLX is C‑FER’s equipment reliability tracking software for electric submersible pump (ESP) and progressing cavity pump (PCP) systems. It features comprehensive equipment catalogs, robust data‑qualification tools, and built‑in reliability analysis capabilities.

Offshore Operators Open House
In March, C‑FER hosted a virtual Offshore Operators Open House which included details of the proposed 2026 launch of the ESP-RIFTS Offshore Subgroup, and a technical roundtable. 18 attendees from 10 operating companies participated in the discussion.
If you are currently operating offshore ESPs, or are considering operating offshore ESPs, please contact C-FER for more details on the proposed ESP-RIFTS Offshore Subgroup.
Permanent Magnet Motors
In March, C FER conducted several interviews with permanent magnet motor (PMM) subject matter experts. Discussions focused on:
- Qualification of variable frequency drive (VFD) models for compatibility with PMMs
- Selection of surface equipment for PMM applications (e.g., sinewave filters, step up transformers)
- VFD control algorithms for PMM operation
The learnings will be added to the PMM Knowledge Repository document for release to the ESP-RIFTS Participants in May/June 2026.
ESP-RIFTS Database
In March C-FER received a new data submission from an ESP-RIFTS Participant, containing reliability data from their thermal operations. Once the data has been processed and qualified, it will be available for analysis on the ESP-RIFTS website and the Power BI benchmarking dashboard.
