C-FER Technologies was pleased to host the Honourable Daniel Vandal, Minister of Northern Affairs, Minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada, and Minister responsible for the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency, at our facilities to announce a $1.35 million investment to further position Alberta as a leader in the hydrogen economy.
This funding will be used to upgrade C-FER’s laboratory for testing hydrogen infrastructure, equipment and technologies. In addition to federal funding, Alberta Innovates is also providing $300,000 towards this initiative for a total investment of $2.8 million.

Supporting the Hydrogen Industry
C-FER is working with industry to evaluate and implement new technologies that will enable the widespread use of hydrogen. We are helping to develop new industry standards for hydrogen-ready equipment and to update industry codes and standards to ensure the safe transition to hydrogen.
Engaging the Global Industry
C-FER is launching an industry-leading, multi-phase joint industry program to better understand the viability of using legacy pipeline networks for blended or pure hydrogen service in partnership with TWI and Sumitomo Corporation.
