Evaluating Connection Challenges

Abstract

Kirk Hamilton, C-FER Technologies, reviews the evolutionary challenges of today’s oilfield from an OCTG connection evaluation perspective.

As multi-fractured horizontal wells (MFHW) become more complex, traditional standards for evaluating oil country tubular goods (OCTG) connections are being pushed to their limits.
 
The article dives into why updated protocols are critical, highlights unique loading conditions in MFHW applications, and explains how the industry is adapting to ensure safety and reliability.
