Deepwater Experimental Chamber (DEC)

Chamber Specifications:

  • Length 10.7 m (35 ft)
  • Internal Diameter 1.22 m (4 ft)
  • Working fluid pressure up to 55 MPa (8,000 psi)

Additional features: 

  • Independent control of collapse pressure and internal specimen pressure
  • Strain gauge, temperature and pressure measurements
  • Rapid installation and removal of test specimens and assemblies
  • Internal video monitoring

Special Environments Laboratory (SEL)

C-FER Technologies’ SEL contains two chambers for large scale extreme environment testing. There are also two fume hoods designed to house smaller scale testing. The SEL is capable of handling multi-load testing that can involve a combination of axial load, pressure, temperature and toxic/corrosive gas exposure.

Primary Containment Chamber:

  • 2.2 m (7.5 ft) diameter
  • 13 m (43 ft) deep
  • 1.6 m (5.5 ft) maximum specimen diameter

Secondary Containment Chamber:

  • 2.7 m (9 ft) diameter
  • 8.5 m (28 ft) long

  • Variety of soil types and sizes
