Carbon Capture Canada 2026

Advancing Confidence in CO₂ Transportation and Storage

Visit us at Booth 93

September 15-17, 2026 | Edmonton Convention Centre | Booth 93

C-FER Technologies is exhibiting at Carbon Capture Canada 2026, where industry leaders, operators, developers, technology providers and researchers will come together to discuss the future of carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS).

As carbon capture projects move from concept to deployment, operators face important questions about transportation, storage integrity, materials performance, risk management and long-term containment. C-FER helps industry address these challenges through independent engineering, specialized testing, quantitative risk assessment and technology qualification. Our experience spans the full CCUS value chain, from pipeline transportation and integrity management to underground storage and well integrity.

Join our Latest Joint Industry Project:

Evaluating the Impacts of Liquid Drop-out with Impurities on CO2 Pipeline Corrosion

Help close a critical knowledge gap in CO₂ transportation. This Joint Industry Project will investigate how impurities behave under flowing pipeline conditions and provide participants with unique insights not currently available in the public domain.

Industry Driven Research

This Joint Industry Project is being developed with input from pipeline operators, manufacturers and industry experts to address unanswered questions in CO₂ transportation: how impurities, liquid drop-out and flow conditions interact to influence corrosion risk. Read More

ADDRESS A CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE GAP

Existing laboratory studies have improved understanding of corrosion mechanisms, but little data exists on how liquid drop-out behaves inside operating CO₂ pipelines. This project will generate new evidence to support pipeline design, operating practices and integrity management decisions.  Read More

INFLUENCE THE PROJECT DIRECTION

Participants will have the opportunity to help shape the test program, operating scenarios and research priorities through the Project Steering Committee, ensuring the work addresses real-world industry challenges. Read More

Featured CCUS Insights

Carbon capture projects require more than proven technologies. They require confidence that infrastructure will perform as intended under real-world conditions. Explore some of the key areas where C-FER is helping industry reduce uncertainty and make evidence-based decisions.

Building Confidence in CO₂ Transportation and Storage Integrity

Many integrity-management practices developed for conventional oil and gas systems provide a strong foundation for CO₂ infrastructure. However, operators must also understand how CO₂ service may affect materials, equipment, release behaviour and mitigation strategies. C-FER combines testing, modelling and quantitative risk assessment to help organizations make risk-informed decisions throughout the lifecycle of transportation and storage assets.

From Legacy Wells to Long-Term Storage

Underground CO₂ storage depends on the long-term performance of reservoirs, wells and engineered barriers. Existing wells can provide valuable infrastructure, but operators must understand their condition and suitability for future service. C-FER supports evidence-based decisions through well assessment, materials testing, full-scale equipment evaluation, engineering analysis and risk assessment.

Understanding CO₂ Pipeline Impurities and Corrosion Risk

Captured CO₂ streams often contain varying combinations of impurities that can influence corrosion behaviour and pipeline integrity. While many corrosion mechanisms are understood, less is known about how liquid drop-out and corrosive phases behave within operating pipelines. C-FER is bringing together industry in a joint industry project to better understand these conditions through representative flow testing and operator-driven research.

Shock Tube Tests Provide Real-Word Data to Support CO₂ Pipeline Design

Pipeline designers often rely on analytical models to predict decompression behaviour during rapid releases. However, project-specific CO₂ streams may contain impurities that are not fully represented by existing data or models. Through specialized shock-tube testing and engineering analysis, C-FER helps project teams develop a stronger technical basis for design decisions related to fracture control, pipe toughness and system integrity.
