Knowledge REpositories
In July, C-FER released updated editions of two Knowledge Repositories to ESP-RIFTS Participants.
The High Gas Volume Fraction Applications Knowledge Repository was expanded to include information on several emerging technologies, providing Participants with additional insights into high gas volume fraction applications.
The latest edition of the Reliability Data Analysis Help File includes new guidance on assessing technology impact on ESP reliability as well as benchmarking for assets with a low number of failures, such as new assets or assets with a high number of proactively pulled systems.
Drilldown Analysis
In July, C-FER began working with an ESP-RIFTS Participant to generate an ESP reliability drilldown analysis. C-FER worked with the Participant to determine key areas of interest to investigate, including:
- Breakdown of the most frequently occurring failure mechanisms
- Evaluation of how failure mechanism frequencies have changed over time
- Analysis of failure mechanisms by pump vendor and model
- Assessment of the impact of ESP system restarts on ESP reliability
These analyses are intended to provide deeper insights into reliability performance and support more informed equipment selection and operational decisions.
Power BI Dashboard Improvements
In August, C-FER will release an update to the ESP‑RIFTS Reliability Benchmarking Dashboards which will allow users to analyze how run-life metrics, such as Mean Time to Failure (MTTF), change over time.
The new charts are fully dynamic, enabling users to:
- Select the assets to include in the analysis
- Adjust the size of the moving calculation window
- Visualize reliability trends over time
These tools provide valuable insight into the evolution of ESP reliability performance and can help identify long-term trends and improvement opportunities.
ESP Reliability Data Tracking and Analysis Workshop
In July, C-FER hosted a two-part virtual workshop focused on ESP reliability data tracking and analysis. This workshop brought together ESP-RIFTS Participants to discuss industry practices and identify opportunities to further improve reliability data quality and consistency.
Key discussions from the workshop included:
- Applying the ESP-RIFTS Failure Nomenclature Standard, focusing on nuanced case studies and sections of the Standard requiring additional clarity.
- Review of the ESP-RIFTS Critical and Recommended Data Sets.
- Participant internal data tracking methodologies, providing insight into current industry practices.
- Analysing ESP reliability data in ESP-RIFTS.
