Tubular Testing System

C-FER's Tubular Testing System (TTS) is a powerful computer-controlled, closed-loop, servo-hydraulic, loading system that provides full-scale structural and reliability testing that simulates typical field conditions.

The system is used for both load and displacement controlled tests on tubulars, line pipe and structural components. It allows for precise application of tensile or compressive axial loads in combination with internal pressure, external pressure, bending and temperature.

Using the TTS minimizes exposure to costly failures during field trials.

Specifications:

  • cased static tensile or compressive loads to 15 MN (3,400,000 lb) with precise deformation control
  • specimen sizes to 15 m (49.2 ft) long by 1.5 m (5 ft) in diameter
  • test temperatures from -40° C (-40° F) to 400°C (752° F) with auxiliary cooling and heating
  • vertically oriented support shaft with reaction points to induce prescribed curvatures or apply lateral loads
