C-FER's Torsion Testing Unit is a self-contained, servo-hydraulically controlled testing system capable of applying up to 16,000 N-m (12,000 ft-lbs) of torsion and 1300 kN (300,000 lbs) of tension on a test specimen. Torsion and tension loads can be independently controlled and operated, or they can be programmed to operate together.

Cyclic loading of either torsion or tension can also be easily performed for fatigue investigations. This testing system can be used for any downhole tool or connection assembly requiring specific make-up and break-out torques, performance qualification tests, or torsion/testing to failure.
