Erosion Prediction

Erosion due to flows with solid particles can be a concern in operations such as sand fracing, CHOPS, and even SAGD. The erosion may occur in surface facilities, wellheads, liners and casings, or in elbows, valves and other flow devices. Predictions of erosion rates can provide guidance for maintenance programs and can even allow redesign of a component or process to avoid the erosion problem completely.
