Status: Commenced November 2002 - The objective of this JIP is to investigate the technical and economic feasibility of several alternative SAGD well configurations and completion designs. This will be done on a comparative basis against selected performance attributes and economic benchmarks that will be established for conventional SAGD well developments.
 

The main objectives of the JIP are to:

• identify a number of candidate SAGD well architectures;
• determine the technical and economic feasibility of the various concepts and rank them relative to current practices; and
• develop recommendations for further development work leading to potential field trials of the most promising systems.
