C-FER has an immediate opening for a Department Manager within its Exploration and Production (E&P) Division.
 
The main focus of the position will be to grow a business segment of the E&P Division, which includes: a) developing and maintaining C-FER’s proprietary application software; b) developing and maintaining equipment Reliability Information and Failure Tracking Systems (RIFTS) as part of Joint Industry Projects (JIPs); and c) developing and delivering specialized training courses.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the development of the capabilities of the staff allocated to the department
• Achieving a high degree of client satisfaction when providing the above mentioned services
• Meeting the financial targets established for the department
• Expanding C-FER’s visibility within the industry by interacting with clients worldwide, and participating in marketing and business development activities
• Contributing as project manager and/or technical resource to other projects within the E&P Division
 
Candidates will have most of the following qualifications:
• a M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering and ten or more years experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in a technical support or research and development environment
• a professional engineering designation (P.Eng.) with APEGGA
• good understanding of drilling, completion and production operations, and related equipment
• solid engineering science fundamentals
• excellent project management skills
• excellent oral and written English communication skills and experience in preparing comprehensive technical reports
• good industry reputation with a wide network of contacts
• strong leadership and management skills
• highly motivated, self-starting work ethic with excellent interpersonal and team building skills
