The CalTran program uses data from a multi-finger caliper tool to determine the 3-D shape of down-hole tubulars. Charts and animated images are used to describe the deformed shape allowing the root cause of the deformation to be identified. Formation movements can be mapped based on orientation and magnitude of deformations. |
